Introducing the New Benguela Cove Wine Club: Two Estates, One Membership
Most wine clubs send you bottles from anywhere. Ours sends you wine from two places we own and farm ourselves, one in South Africa and one in England. We are relaunching the Benguela Cove wine club in the UK, with a flexible monthly wine subscription that puts you in control of what arrives, how often, and at what price.
We have rebuilt the club from the ground up. The old model asked you to commit to a fixed quarterly case at a fixed size. It worked, but it left little room for how people actually drink and buy wine now. The new framework keeps the curation you trust and adds the flexibility you asked for.
What the new wine club gives you?
You now choose from three routes into the club, and you can change your mind whenever you like.
- Seasonal Discovery Wine Subscription, from £90 a case. Approachable wines from our Walker Bay vineyards, blending the fresh Lighthouse Range with selected Estate wines.
- Estate Seasonal Selection Subscription, from £120 a case. Structured, age-worthy Estate wines, with occasional limited cellar releases.
- Build Your Own, by ticking Subscribe and Save 15% at checkout. Pick your own bottles and your own rhythm.
Both curated tiers come as a six-bottle or twelve-bottle case. You set delivery to monthly or quarterly, and you pause or skip when life gets in the way. Every curated shipment saves you between 15 and 25% against our retail prices.
Why two estates matter?
Benguela Cove sits on the Bot River lagoon in Walker Bay, South Africa, one of the coolest, most maritime corners of the Cape. Leonardslee Family Vineyards sits in West Sussex, on the clay-loam slopes that suit English sparkling wine. Both estates share one owner, one standard, and one Cellar Master, Johann Fourie.
That structure is unusual. Most clubs buy in bulk from many growers and label it as their own. We grow, pick, and make our own fruit on both estates, so we can tell you exactly where your wine comes from. Our brand story, Follow the Swallow, traces the same migratory bird that travels between the two hemispheres, and your case follows the same path: cool-climate South African still wines alongside precise English sparkling.
The practical upside is variety across the year. Crisp Walker Bay whites suit the summer table. Warming Syrah and Bordeaux-style reds carry you through winter. English sparkling marks the occasions in between.
Membership perks beyond the wine
A subscription should give you more than a delivery. Members receive:
- Free standard UK shipping on every subscription case
- 10% Off any non-subscription estate wine you buy between deliveries
- Seasonal tasting and cellaring notes written by Johann Fourie
- A complimentary estate tasting for you and three guests, on your second order
- Invitations to private events and winemaker masterclasses
Those last two turn a digital subscription into something you can stand in. Leonardslee is open to visit in West Sussex, with Grade I listed gardens, a tasting room, and the Michelin-starred Restaurant Interlude on site.
Our sustainability credentials
Benguela Cove is a WWF Conservation Champion and a Travelife member, and Leonardslee is certified under Sustainable Wines of Great Britain. We hand-harvest fruit, use wild-yeast fermentations on selected wines, and protect biodiversity across both estates. Sustainability is not a footnote for us, it is how the wine gets made. Both estates are ranked among the World's Best Vineyards.
